Did you enjoy all the fantastic racing in the opening salvos of March? If you were glued to the screen for the white roads of Strade Bianche, or maybe the high-stakes battles of Paris-Nice… even if you’re just jumping in now, you know the excitement for this season is still only going one way: up!

What is waiting for us this month? We are moving from the “prelude” into the very heart of Holy Week. Are you ready for the ultimate cobbled showdown at the Tour of Flanders? Or the brutal, beautiful chaos of the “Hell of the North” at Paris-Roubaix? And don’t forget the shift in terrain as we head toward the lung-busting climbs of the Ardennes Classics. These iconic races aren’t to be missed!

Ready to get started? Let’s check out the full men’s and women’s schedules for the best month of one-day racing!

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) classifies every race by a code that tells you two things: how long it is and how important it is.

The first number in any code tells you the format of the race. 1.X races are one-day (like a classic or a Monument) while 2.X races are multi-day stage races, ranging from a 2-day event to the 21-day men’s Grand Tours.

WorldTour races are the “major leagues” of cycling, where the world’s top teams always show up. 1.UWT & 2.UWT (UCI WorldTour) is the men’s elite level. This includes the Tour de France (2.UWT) and Paris-Roubaix (1.UWT). 1.WWT & 2.WWT (Women’s WorldTour) is the women’s elite level. This includes the Tour de France Femmes (2.WWT) and Strade-Bianche Donne (1.WWT).

Introduced in 2020, the ProSeries category is more like the “AAA” level. These races are still highly prestigious but allow for a mix of top-tier WorldTour teams and second-division ProTeams.

Continental races are also referred to as “Class 1” races. They are slightly less prestigeous than the top-tier races, but make up the backbone of the racing calendar. In these events, up-and-coming talent often gets their first chance to race against WorldTour pros!

The Monuments grab the headlines, but these four races are likely to deliver some of the most tactical and thrilling racing of the entire season.

Scheldeprijs

Known as the “Sprinter’s World Championship,” this mid-week classic between Flanders and Roubaix is pure speed. It’s the oldest race in Flanders and the ultimate test for the fastest men and women in the world!

Brabantse Pijl

This is really the perfect “bridge” race. It marks the transition from the heavy cobbles of the north to the punchy climbs of the Ardennes. With its short and punchy hills, it’s often where we see the most aggressive, unpredictable attacks.

La Flèche Wallonne

Listen, it’s more than just a warm-up for Liège. The finish atop the Mur de Huy, with gradients hitting 26%, can be one of the best in pro cycling depending on the year!

Tro-Bro Léon

Is it really the “Hell of the West?” This cult favorite takes place on the dirt and farm tracks of Brittany. It features a live piglet for the top local rider AND some of the most stunning coastal scenery in the sport.
